Retainingthehistoricfiresurroundandcornicebutremovinglaterpartitionsandafalseceiling,thearchitectsinsertedatwo-leveltimberstructurecontainingthekitchen,bathroom,amezzanineandstorage.
“Thespaceislocatedonthefirstfloorofalistedbuilding,”explainsprojectarchitectHamishHerford.“Thefiresurroundandcornice,bylaw,hadtoremain.”
